Alexander may not be a son of Robert Grant and Mary Papst. This is a guess based on Canadian and U.S. census. Alexander and his family were living next to Robert and Mary in 1861, Aldborough Twp, Elgin Co, Ontario. In 1870 Alexander and family were living in Huron Co, Michigan. They were close to Charles Grant and his family. Charles is a son of Robert Grant and Mary papst. Charles came to Winsor Township, Huron County, Michigan in 1863 with his parents.
