"This is to certifie the truth to All whom it may concern - That john
Wing ye son of Stephen Wing & Mary Perry ye daughter of Edward Perry
both of ye towne of Sandwich : the said john & mary haveing intentions
of marriage accordidg to ye ordinance of God & his joyning, did Lay it
before ye men & womens Meeting did the said john & mary manifest their
aforesaid intentions of marriage at which meeting did those friends
who so desired to make inquirie concerning their clearness Return
their answer, which was yt they found nothing but yt they were both
cleare from any intanglement or engagement to any others as touching
marriage: also their intention of marriage being published according
to ye order of the Govmt: so all things being cleare: A meeting was
apoynted at ye house of Edward Perry for ye manifestation &
Confirmation of their joyning together in marriage" at which meeting
in ye Presence of God & of his people did ye said john & mary take
each other man & wife according to ye Law of God & ye practice of ye
holy men of God mentioned in ye scriptutes of truth: they then both
promising to Live faithfully together man & wife till deaath should
separate them & they both setting their name unto: which was ye 22 of
ye 7 mo. in ye year 1685 God in heaven is witness to this your
